There are 2 says you can purchase an item for yourself!
Purchase from the Play Area!
First open a category window like furniture or extras and when you find the item you like click on the 
Next, say YES! When asked if you want to buy the item. And when you see the green circle 
the number inside tells you how many you have available.
Then drag the item onto the Play Area and start designing your dream house!
Purchase from the Boutique
Click on Shop  |

Find the item you like, then click on BUY. |

Follow the checkout process (you can use ddCoins or a credit card to pay). |

And when you are done, the item will be waiting for you in the Play Area category window.
Then drag the item onto the Play Area and start designing you dream house!!
